Bridgestone & A1 Rubber Working Together

Bridgestone are in the process of expanding and refurbishing existing stores and retreading facilities Australia-wide, and have chosen to install A1 Rubber’s™ Jazz® and Duralast™ Industrial rubber products throughout their establishments. A1 Rubber™ and Bridgestone have a long standing relationship together, as A1 Rubber™ have been manufacturing with the retread buffings collected from Bandag, a subsidiary of Bridgestone. By selecting A1 Rubber™ products, Bridgestone are installing floors manufactured and derived from their own recycled tyre materials.

The first installation has been completed at the Hume Bridgestone store in the ACT. Throughout the store and office areas Jazz® Partita has been selected and sealed for longevity and easy cleaning, and throughout the tyre retreading and fitting facilities, Duralast™ Industrial has been installed, providing a grippy and cushioned surface to protect metal rims from damage.

A1 Rubber™ looks forward to many more years of working together with Bridgestone and Bandag to provide and manufacture high quality rubber floors in Australia from Australian tyres.

Virgin Active Choose A1 Rubber

After trialling a refurbished area in the Frenches Forest Virgin Active gym and extensive sound and vibration testing, Virgin Active have made the decision to move forward with A1 Rubber products throughout over 800m² of the new Moore Park Virgin Active gym.

A1 Rubber are proud to be supplying over 45 tonnes of rubber flooring in the form of Olympact, AeroRoll, Aero Shockpads, Impact-Tiles and Jazz products for use throughout areas including free weights rooms, training rooms, strength and pinload areas. Virgin Active have chosen a combination of standard Jazz flooring colours, as well as a custom “Virgin Red” colour to suit their branding colours.

A combination of AeroRoll sports underlay with Jazz top surfacing are being used for general training areas, and combinations of Olympact and Jazz in various thicknesses are being used in free weights and pinloaded machine areas to endure the heavier use. In the heavy weight areas, up to 140mm of Olympact with Impact-Tile top surfacing are being use to combat the extreme vibration and impact, as well as a combination of Aero Shockpads and Impact-Tiles at the rock climbing wall to provide a unique slow rebound surface. Throughout the use of various products, A1 Rubber has met the unique needs of individual areas and uses.

With the future expansion and refurbishments of Virgin Active gyms throughout Australia, A1 Rubber looks forward to continuing to work with Virgin Active to deliver the highest standards and best results for their gyms.

Opera Australia Use Rubber Tiles

Over the course of three weeks in March and April 2014, Opera Australia hosted their annual prestigious harbour-side opera, Madame Butterfly. The stunning outdoor arrangement included seating, 3 storeys of temporary restaurants, bars and eateries, and a floating stage. Opera Australia approached A1 Rubber, needing a flooring solution with quick lead times.

Due to its outdoor location, many of the areas were exposed to the elements, and as such it was particularly important that the flooring was weather-proof and particularly slip resistant. The temporary set-up also meant that permanently adhered flooring solutions weren’t an option. A1 Rubber worked closely with Opera Australia to come up with a solution that best fit their needs, and settled on two products.

The first product used was grey Impact-Tiles, selected for the exclusive Platinum Club restaurant and bar area. Opera Australia was particularly pleased that the tiles were easy to clean up if anything was spilled, and stains didn’t show. The second product was a custom tile made of green colour-coated buffings with green EPDM speckles throughout, and was used throughout all exposed areas in the temporary bar and eatery areas, as well as elevated walkways and platforms. Subject to the heaviest of traffic, this temporary flooring solution endured through the weather and crowds, still looking like new after the event had finished. The tiles were installed without the use of adhesives, allowing for easy removal, transfer and storage, to be used again at a later date.

Thanks to the great installation job by F&K Flooring, the temporary installation looked fantastic and lasted the duration of the event. We look forward to working with Opera Australia again in the future.

Tough Love Install Jazz at Meeniyan

The Nissan Navara Tough Love team are a group of tradies featured on the AFL Footy Show who visit communities in need, dedicating their time and skills to renovate clubs, schools and houses. One of the recent renovations has been the Meeniyan Dumbalk United Footy Club training room, where our A1 Rubber Jazz flooring has been supplied for the new floor.

Installation of the A1 Rubber Jazz flooring was co-ordinated by Rubber Tough. The new Jazz rubber flooring replaced old carpeted and tiled areas, which is used as a multi-function sports floor. The new rubber flooring not only provides a more durable and grippy alternative to the original carpet, but also a more hygienic environment with its non-porous and easy to clean nature.

The club members of the Meeniyan country footy club have expressed great gratitude to the Nissan Navara Tough Love team and Rubber Tough for supplying the new club flooring. They’ve said it is a huge improvement and the community response to the makeover has been overwhelming.
